Abstract

The invention provides a shelf management system for an advanced telecom computing architecture (ATCA). The system comprises at least one shelf. Each shelf is connected with a plurality of single boards, converts single board data transmitted by each single board into network data, and transmits the network data to a server through a network. The network data comprises Internet protocol (IP) addresses of the shelves. The server comprises a plurality of shelf control module. One shelf control module corresponds to each shelf. After receiving network data, the server determines a shelf control module for processing the network data according to an IP address in the network data, extracts single board data from the network data, transmits the extracted single board data to the shelf control module corresponding to the network data for processing, converts response single board data obtained by the processing of the shelf control module into response network data, and transmits the response network data to a corresponding shelf.
