Embodiment Construction

[0015] The invention utilizes the VMWare login event to realize the continuous monitoring of the VMWare event. When logging in to vCenter / ESX, vCenter / ESX will generate a user login event. If this event can occur frequently, listen to the user login event to avoid timeout interruption of the TCP / IP connection listening to the VMWare event.

[0016] In the present invention, the application program and vCenter / ESX establish a TCP / IP connection to monitor the VMWare event, and record the last time the TCP / IP connection receives the VMWare event. The application logs in to vCenter / ESX according to the first time period (for example, 20 seconds) shorter than the HTTPs connection aging period to trigger a user login event. The application program calculates the time difference between the time when the last VMWare event was received by the TCP / IP connection and the current time according to the second time period. If the time difference is less than or equal to the first time peri...

Abstract

The invention provides a method and a device for continuously monitoring VMWare events. The method comprise the following steps: establishing a TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) / IP (Internet Protocol) connection with vCenter / ESX through an application program to monitor the VMWare event; recording through the application program the time when the TCP / IP connection receives the VMWare event for the last time; logging in vCenter / ESX and triggering a user login event according to a first time cycle through the application program; periodically calculating a time difference between the time when the TCP / IP connection receives the VMWare event for the last time and the current time according to a second time cycle through the application program, wherein the second time cycle is shorter than the first time cycle; and determining that the time difference is smaller than the first time cycle through the application program, and then the TCP / IP connection is normal. As the user login event sent by vCenter / ESX to the application program is relatively frequent, https (Hyper Text Transfer Protocols) timeout interrupt of the TCP / IP connection which monitors the VMWare event does not occur.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to network technology, in particular to a method and device for continuously monitoring VMWare events. Background technique [0002] An important technical realization of cloud computing is virtualization, that is, the virtualization of computing resources, storage resources and network resources. Computing resource virtualization means that the services provided by cloud computing are not fixed based on a specific physical server, but dynamically based on one or more servers; storage resource virtualization refers to the storage resources used by cloud computing. The space is based on any storage device; network resource virtualization means that the network configuration is dynamic, and the services provided by cloud computing are dynamically configured. [0003] In network resource virtualization, the services provided by cloud computing are all completed through virtual machines. The dynamic configuration of network resource...
