Embodiment Construction

[0044] FIG. 1A shows a schematic diagram of a modular data center housing unit 100 as one embodiment of a modular data center primitive according to the present invention. Modular data center housing unit 100 includes a front wall 110 , a floor 120 and a rear wall 130 . The front wall 110 is positioned away from the first edge 122 of the floor such that a ledge 126 is provided between the front wall 110 and the first edge 122 . The width of the lug is significantly less than the overall width of the bottom plate 120 . The rear wall 130 has substantially the same dimensions as the front wall 110, and the rear wall 130 is positioned substantially parallel to the front wall 110 at or adjacent to the second edge 124 of the floor, which is the same as the second edge 124. An edge 122 is opposite.

[0045] The actual dimensions of the modular data center housing unit 100 are generally defined by the dimensions of the height and width of the front wall 110 and the depth and width o...

Abstract

Modular datacenter element(100), comprising: a modular space defined by at least a bottom panel(120),and a front wall(110) having substantially the same length as the bottom panel, placed substantially vertically on the bottom panel(120),further comprising a plurality of racks for holding equipment, the racks being aligned in an opening in the front wall along the length of the bottom panel, wherein a first side of the aligned plurality of racks is spaced away from a first edge along the length of the bottom panel at a distance substantially smaller than the width of the bottom panel, thus creating a ledge bottom part(126) between the first edge of the bottom panel and the plurality of racks. By creating a datacenter comprising multiple modular datacenter elements, a datacenter with efficient inspection possibilities and efficient air handling is created.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to modular data centers and to elements for building said modular data centers. Background technique [0002] Modular data centers, especially mobile data centers, are used to temporarily provide data processing and data communication and are implemented as almost completely self-contained units. Such data centers are particularly well suited for more extreme environments, such as in areas of very cold, very hot and / or very humid climates. [0003] US Patent Application Publication No. US2009 / 0229194A1 discloses a portable data center comprising one or more modular containers comprising: expandable and retractable side walls; a ceiling; a floor and, a bracket configured to securely hold the equipment. The container also includes insulation and a number of safety measures to protect the equipment located in the container. More specifically, the container is an ISO steel container as used for transporting goods on ships, ...
