Abstract

A method in a video conferencing device for filtering media packets from a video conferencing data stream. The video conferencing device includes a media processing network, a general purpose network, a soft core processor, a lookup table memory (LUT) and a full network stack. The method includes receiving a packet of a video conference media stream at the soft-core processor, determining whether the length of the packet is long enough to contain the media, determining whether the protocol of the packet is supported by the soft-core processor, finding the packet's a media stream ID, using the media stream ID as an input value to send a request to the LUT while concurrently determining whether the packet is a valid media packet; and when receiving a destination address in the media processing network from the LUT and When the packet is determined to be a valid media packet, modifying a header of the packet with the destination address received from the LUT; and routing the packet to the modified destination address. A video conferencing device is adapted to perform the method.
