The method comprises the following steps that: when the detected system voltage is not lower than a limit value, limited operation is not carried out on a motor current and load shedding treatment is not carried out on the locomotive; when the detected system voltage is lower than the limit value, current reducing operation is carried out on the motor current according to a certain rate, wherein a current reducing amplitude is directly proportional to the reduced amplitude of the system voltage, the lower system voltage is, the larger load shedding amplitude is obtained, and the load shedding amplitude is changed with the system voltage; and a speed of the locomotive is monitored simultaneously in the process for detecting the change of the system voltage, wherein when the speed of the locomotive is close to the limit value, the current reducing operation is stopped, and if the detected system voltage is reduced continuously, the motor maintains the operation at the present current, and when the detected system voltage is recovered to some degree, recovery operation is conducted on the motor current according to the certain rate till a current value is needed at a certain slope.
