Abstract

A dispenser (2) for web of absorbent paper, tissue or nopwoven material is provided. The dispenser (2) comprises a housing (6) with a holder arrangement (16) for receiving the roll (3), the holder arrangement (16) providing a roil rotational axis about which the roll (3) is arranged to rotate when dispensing the web. The dispenser further comprises a drive roller (26) extending in a direction substantially parallel to the roll rotational axis. The drive roller (26) is adapted to abut the roll (3). The dispenser (2) also comprises an engaging roller (28) extending substantially parallel to the drive roller (26). The drive roller (26) and the engaging roller (28) are arranged so as to define a dispensing passage (30) there between for the web. The dispenser (2) is adapted for a user to grasp, and pull on, a dispensing end (32) of the web to dispense a length of web from the roll (3). The roll (3) of web is arranged to be biased against the drive roller (26). The drive roller (26) is arranged such that a dispensing end (32) of the web is adapted to be led from the roll (3) over the drive roller (32) through the dispensing passage (30)and to frictionally engage with the drive roller (26) and the engaging roller (28).
