Abstract

A Chinese character image inpainting method based on strokes belongs to the fields of computer virtual reality technology and machine vision. Information used for inpainting a Chinese character is limited in an image or a plurality of images with the same source as the image. Before inpainting the Chinese character, a damaged Chinese character in the image are broken up into strokes. A template assembly containing the Chinese character and the strokes of the Chinese character is built. During inpainting of the Chinese character, an undamaged portion of the damaged Chinese character or outlines of the strokes are extracted, a corresponding outline section of a remained outlines in the stroke assembly is found, a corresponding possible stroke is determined through the corresponding outline section, then a possible stroke most similar to an original stroke is selected from possible similar strokes, and finally a Chinese character damaged portion is restored according to the corresponding template, and a corresponding image portion is inpainted.
