Embodiment Construction

[0017] The support according to the first embodiment comprises a first wall 103 bent into a circular section and perforated with an arrangement of perforations 105 into which a drill 107 can be introduced. Furthermore, the support comprises a curved and perforated second wall 109 with perforations 111, the curvature of the second wall substantially corresponding to the curvature of the first wall 103, and the perforations 111 of the second wall being arranged substantially corresponding to the first wall 103. Perforation 105 of one wall 103 . The second wall 109 is arranged spaced apart from the first wall 103 on its concave side. The bracket in turn comprises a curved third wall 113 arranged at a distance from the second wall 109 on its concave side, however this third wall does not comprise perforations corresponding to the perforations of the first and second walls. Schematically in Figure 1a in section and schematically in Figure 1b The corresponding bracket is shown i...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a holder for a number of borers, which can advantageously be used for coating borer tips. The holders according to the invention make it possible to arrange the borers in the coating unit in such a way that their tips rest on a cylindrical wall and these can be rotated past a coating source at the same minimum distance. The holder comprises a first curved wall with holes, a second curved wall with holes or slits and a third wall which serves as stop for borers inserted in the holes of the first and second wall.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the coating of drills and the supports that can be used therefor. Background technique [0002] In order to improve the wear resistance of the drill, it is known to coat the tip and the flute of the drill with a coating of a hard material, for example titanium nitride or chromium aluminum nitride. PVD methods (Physical Vapor Deposition), such as arc evaporation, electron beam evaporation or spraying, are usually used for applying the coating during batch operation. A batch process here means that the carrier is equipped with the drills to be coated and that the carrier is arranged on a type of rotary table which, by turning around, ensures that the drills are guided multiple times past the paint source (Beschichtungsquelle) . An attempt was made here to construct the scaffold in such a way that only the drill tip and the area directly behind the tip are coated. [0003] From document DE 60002579 T2 it is known to use...
