The method comprises the following steps of: recording the basic information of the contact persons; recording the use time of each contact person or the use frequency within a period of time; setting priority threshold values for appointed contact persons; according to the situation of the priority threshold values of the contact persons, sorting all the contact persons; after sorting is finished, generating a sequence table with the mapping relationship with the contact persons, comparing the use time of the contact persons or the use frequency within a period of time when the priority threshold values of some of the contact persons are same; and leading the sequence table into the user identification card. The method and the mobile terminal are simple and practical, and the intelligence for leading the contact persons into the user identification card is improved. Under the condition that the volume of the user identification card is insufficient, important contact person information is guaranteed to be stored into the user identification card preferentially for contingencies, and better functional experience is provided for a user.
