The intermediate pipe size ultrasonic flowmeter on the basis of the TDC-GP22 chip and the signal enhancement method thereof are characterized in that three-state gates are adopted to replace conventionally designed series resistors; in the sending process on an upstream and in the receiving process on a downstream, the three-state gate corresponding to a sending end is conducted and the three-state gate corresponding to a receiving end is cut off, so that a sending signal can be directly applied to a sending probe in an undamped manner and an amplitude and driving capacity of the sending signal are reinforced; due to cut-off of the corresponding three-state gate, an output of the receiving end has a high resistance, so that equivalent parallel resistance at both ends of a receiving probe are over 1megohm and an amplitude of a received signal is effectively improved.
