Abstract

An exemplary embodiment includes a method for forming a hard carbide coating on a low chromium content steel article by electroless deposition with a particulate mixture wherein molybdenum is in the form of the compound FeMo or in the compound Titanium in the form of FeTi, or a mixture of FeMo and FeTi can be added to the particulate mix used to form the coating.
