Abstract

The present invention provides a machine tool provided with a rotary table. This machine tool includes a rotary table on which a workpiece is mounted, a clamping mechanism for clamping the rotation of the rotary table, and a sensor for detecting completion of the clamping operation by the clamping mechanism. In the numerical control device for controlling the machine tool, the time required for the operation substantially required by the clamping mechanism is calculated in consideration of the processing time of the feedback signal from the sensor and the time until the next operation of the machine tool. Then, the clamping mechanism is controlled based on the calculated required time, thereby shortening the period of the clamping or loosening operation.
