Embodiment Construction

[0016] Figure 1-3 Certain embodiments of a system for measuring vital signs of a user are shown. System 100 includes a base unit including aperture 101, extension member 102, internal housing 103 including a computer system, curved metal pad 104, sensor head 105, base unit extension 201, tongue rest area 203, Flexible shaft 204 , hole (vent opening) 206 , inflation shaft 207 , bottom metal layer 208 and touch screen 307 . Extension member 102 may be pivotably mounted to base unit extension 201 by any assembly known in the art, such as a compression spring.

[0017] In some embodiments of the present invention, a first light emitting diode (LED) device is attached to the extension member 102 and a second LED device is attached to the base unit extension 201 . These LED devices may include any components known in the art, such as lamps or detectors, which may include photoplethysmographs (PPG) or plethysmographs. Photoplethysmographs are commonly used in pulse oximeters, whi...

Abstract

The application discloses a system used for measuring and recording data about vital signs of a user by responding to a single movement of the user. The system comprises a basic unit and an extension part. The basic unit includes a computer system, metal layers fixed to a first side surface and a bottom surface of the basic unit, holes, and a flexible shaft extending from the bottom surface of the basic unit. The extension part is disposed on a second side surface of the basic unit in a pivotal manner. According to the system, the thumn of the user is held on the metal layer on the first side surface, the index finger of the user is accommodated between the basic unit and the extension part, the lip of the user is held on the metal layer on the bottom surface, and the tongue is held on the flexible shaft, such that data about vital signs are obtained and transmitted to a remote position.

Description

Background technique [0001] The present application generally relates to systems for measuring and recording body vital signs such as oxygen content in blood, respiratory characteristics, electrocardiogram (electrocardiogram or ECG), heart rate, blood pressure and body temperature for health monitoring applications. [0002] Current systems use multiple sensors connected to a base unit, capable of collectively measuring all vital signs. These integrated units still require the user to attach two or more sensors to specific locations on the body. For example, traditional pulse oximetry systems for measuring blood oxygen include a sensor attached to the user's finger, an oral thermometer needs to be placed under the tongue or under the arm, an infrared thermometer is placed in the ear canal, and an ECG sensor needs to be placed in two With sensors next to the heart, most blood pressure monitoring instruments use either the auscultatory or oscillometric method requiring an armba...
