Abstract

The invention discloses a fast calibration method for intelligent video surveillance. Firstly, a marker post is vertically arranged on the ground to enable the marker post to form three reference lines in a video image. Secondly, the three reference lines in the video image extend to be connected at a point so that the position of the subpoint M of a camera can be obtained. Thirdly, the connection line of the top points of any two reference lines and the connection line of the bottom points of any two reference lines extend to form an intersection point, and vanishing lines of the reference lines are formed through any two intersection points. Fourthly, the height of the camera is calculated based on the variable ratio invariance principle of a collinear point in affine transformation. Lastly, the relation between the height of a target in an image pixel coordinate system and the height of a target in a world coordinate system is obtained through the geometrical relationship. The fast calibration method has the obvious advantages that the relation between the world coordinate system and the image pixel coordinate system is directly obtained by forming the reference lines and the vanishing lines through one simple marker post, the calculation steps of the method are simple and easy to carry out, and the efficiency of intelligent video surveillance is greatly improved.
