The virtual private network communication system comprises a server and a plurality of routing devices; the plurality of routing devices respectively transmit a piece of registration information to the server; the registration information comprises an identification character string; the routing devices comprise a first routing device and a second routing device; the first routing device sends a positioning requirement to the server; the server transmits the positioning requirement to partially or all routing devices according to the identification character string; when the second routing device receives the positioning requirement, the second routing device transmits a piece of positioning information back to the first routing device via the server according to the positioning requirement; and the first routing device directly builds connection with the second routing device according to the positioning information and data are transmitted after the connection is built.
