The method includes: making a steel cylinder and sleeving a reeling barrel with the steel cylinder, then controlling spreading of the reeling barrel so as to prop the steel cylinder tightly, controlling stalling of a wrapper roller motor and power failure; then setting the rotation speed of the reeling barrel, and controlling a reeling barrel motor in terms of driving the reeling barrel to rotate at a set rotation speed; then gradually reducing the roller gap of wrapper rollers till contact of the wrapper rollers with the steel cylinder, and measuring the wrapper roller gap during contact; and finally calibrating the measured roller gap in a basic automation computer. By adopting the zero adjustment method provided by the invention, the step of staff's entrance into the reeling machine is omitted, errors caused by human factors are avoided, and the safety and accuracy of zero adjustment operation are improved.
