Abstract

The monitoring device comprises an image recorder, an infrared sensor and an image displacement sensor. The monitoring method includes the following steps of shooting a video stream corresponding to a monitoring range; sensing the infrared ray state of the infrared sensing range to selectively generate a triggering signal, wherein the infrared sensing range and the monitoring range partially overlap with each other; selectively generating an image displacement signal according to the video stream; judging whether a moving object is detected or not according to the triggering signal and the image displacement signal.
