The replacing method comprises the following steps of looking up a first page which comprises the minimum number of hot element groups in a buffering area; transferring the hot element groups of the first page to a second page in the buffering area; and replacing the first page from the buffering area. The second page is a new page or is a page which comprises the maximum number of hot element groups. The embodiment of the invention also provides a terminal. By the replacing method, the hot element groups of the page which comprises the minimum number of the hot element groups can be transferred to the other page, the page is then replaced from the buffering area, and the use ratio of the buffering area is improved.
