Abstract

The invention discloses an identification device for a paper currency prefix code. The identification device comprises an LED light source plate, a transmission type image sensor (CIS), an analog to digital converter (ADC) plate and an image processing control board. The image sensor is configured to receive light rays which are emitted by the LED light source plate and penetrate through paper currency, so that a paper currency image is generated; the ADC plate is configured to convert the paper currency image into a digital signal and input the digital signal to the image processing control board. The identification device is characterized in that the LED light source plate comprises multiple identical LED lamps identical in luminous intensity, and a shielding object cannot form a shadow on the paper currency image because of arrangement of the LED lamps. The invention further discloses an identification method for the paper currency prefix code.
