Abstract

The method comprises the steps as follows: a sending end sends detection stream to a receiving end periodically according to two ends of a given to-be-measured available bandwidth, and the receiving end is forced to return information stream to the sending end continuously; the sending end judges the relation between the sending rate and the real available bandwidth according to change of one-way time delay of the received information stream; and the sending rate is adjusted step by step according to a judgment result until an error between the sending rate and the real available bandwidth is in an acceptable range, and the final measurement value of the available bandwidth is obtained. With implementation of the invention, single end network available bandwidth measurement can be performed between any two nodes on a network.
