Abstract

The invention discloses a switch and a server system. The switch comprises a first SPI (serial peripheral interface) controller, a plurality of second SPI controllers and a memory, wherein the memory is provided with a first port and a second port; the first end of the first SPI controller is connected with a BIOS (basic input / output system), and the other end of the first SPI controller is connected with the first port; one ends of the second SPI controllers are connected with CPUs (central processing units), and the other ends of the second SPI controllers are connected with the second port; the first SPI controller exclusively occupies the communication address of the first port; the plurality of second SPI controllers share the communication address of the second port; the first SPI controller is used for reading and transmitting data; the second SPI controllers are used for reading and transmitting data. By means of SPIs, the switch achieves that multiple CPUs share one BIOS, thereby making full use of resources of a BMC (baseboard management controller) in a cloud server, avoiding waste of the BMC resource and meanwhile saving BIOS devices and reducing the cost.
