Abstract

The invention relates to a 3D-HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) multi-resolution video coding method. According to the method, a basic viewpoint video is coded inside a video coder by adopting an original resolution while a dependent viewpoint video is coded by adopting a lower resolution. According to the method, down-sampling of the basic viewpoint video is taken as a reference frame of the dependent viewpoint video, and meanwhile down-sampling is performed on the dependent viewpoint video in the coder. In a decoder, accurate up-sampling is performed on a brightness component by adopting a six-tap filter with a double-filter interpolation method, and up-sampling is performed on a chromaticity component by adopting a four-tap filter since the sensitivity of human eyes to the change of video image brightness is higher than the sensitivity to the change of chromaticity. Through adoption of the method, the algorithm complexity is lowered on the premise of keeping the coding performance.
