[0056] figure 1 A perspective view of a food processing system 10 according to the invention is shown. The food processing system 10 includes a multi-head scale 12 . The multi-head weigher 12 includes a load cell (not shown) for receiving solid food products in batches (i.e., the solid food products include a large number of individual food products, typically meat products, such as chicken, beef, pork, fish, etc.). Receiver 14. A solid food product is conveyed from the receiving part 14 to one of the trays 16 . The tray 16 is located circumferentially around the receiving part 14 . Each tray 16 includes a conveying screw 18 for conveying the solid food product outwardly towards the lid 20 . Lid 20 controls the release of solid food products from tray 16 to weighing scale 22 . The weighing scale 22 determines the weight of the solid food product located in the weighing scale 22 . Solid food products may be selectively released into the chute 24 and collected into the dos...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a food processing system for sorting, weighing, transporting and marinating solid food products. The food processing system includes a weighing system having receiving means (14) for receiving batches of solid food products and discharge means (24) for selectively discharging batches of solid food products. The food processing system also includes a marinating container (34) having an inlet for receiving a batch of solid food products. The food processing system also includes a supply tube (36) for supplying a quantity of marinade to the marinating container and an agitator for stirring the batch of solid food products and the quantity of marinade. The food processing system has an outlet (40) for discharging batches of solid food products and quantities of marinade together and a sub-package for sub-packaging batches of solid food products and quantities of marinade into packages stand.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a food handling system and corresponding methods for sorting, weighing, transporting and marinating solid food products Background technique [0002] Marinating is a known technique in which pieces of food such as beef, pork, chicken, fish, etc. are soaked in a seasoned acidic liquid prior to cooking. This liquid is usually a marinade. The marinade will normally be at least partially absorbed into the solid food product, which results in a juicier and more flavorful final product. For private users, marinades can be performed by completely immersing solid food items in marinade for several hours up to several days. It is important to contact the entire outer surface of the food product with the marinade so that the marinade penetrates the solid food product evenly. An example of marinating equipment for private users is described in US2009 / 0169290, which describes a rotating drum that accelerates the "occupancy" of t...
