Apparatus for producing metal coated polymers

A method of improving the breakdown strength of polymer multi-layer (PML) capacitors is provided and of providing a window in food packaging is provided. The method comprises patterning the aluminum coating, either by selective removal of deposited aluminum or by preventing deposition of the aluminum on selected areas of the underlying polymer film. Apparatus is also provided for patterning metal deposition on polymer films comprising masking for defining regions in which metal is deposited. The apparatus comprises: (a) a rotating drum; (b) a monomer evaporator for depositing a monomer film on the rotating drum; (c) a radiation curing element for curing the monomer film to form a cross-linked polymer film; and (d) a resistive evaporator for depositing a metal film on the cross-linked polymer film. The foregoing elements are enclosed in a vacuum chamber. The masking comprising one of the following: (e1) a web mask provided with openings for depositing the metal film therethrough, the web mask including a portion adapted for positioning between the resistive evaporator for depositing the metal film on the cross-linked polymer film and the rotating drum; or (e2) a rotating element for transferring liquid from a source to the rotating drum, the rotating element adapted to transfer the liquid to the rotating drum after the monomer evaporator for depositing the polymer film and before the resistive evaporator for depositing the metal film.

Recording a stereoscopic image of a wide field of view

A scanning camera with a rotating drum has one or more sensors characterized by a non-radial optical axis. With two sensors on opposite sides of the drum and facing in substantially the same direction, stereoscopic recording of a panorama is accomplished as the drum rotates. Rapid rotation of the scanning camera produces panoramic motion picture recording, with the final frame speed dependent on the sensitivity and speed of the sensor, the resolution desired, and the capabilities of the recording device. The preferred embodiment employs rotating fisheye lenses for a substantially fill-sphere field of view. Streamlining of the lens elements on the drum surface is described for quiet operation of the camera, even at high rotation speeds. The rapid rotation of the drum characteristic of motion picture frame rates can improve both the stability and portability of the camera. The gyroscopic effect of the rotating weight of the drum can increase the stability of the camera, and the apparent weight of the camera can be reduced by the lifting effect of aerodynamic elements such as rotors added to the rotating drum. The adjustment of convergence are described that improve the viewing of stereoscopic images. Additional sensors in the same arrangement are used to increase resolution through multiplexed recording of the image data. Recording image information using film, either internal or external to the camera drum, is also described as a cost-effective alternative to digital media storage.

Rotating scan self-cleaning camera

A scanning camera with a rotating drum has one or more sensors characterized by a non-radial optical axis. With two sensors on opposite sides of the drum and facing in substantially the same direction, stereoscopic recording of a panorama is accomplished as the drum rotates. Rapid rotation of the scanning camera produces panoramic motion picture recording, with the final frame speed dependent on the sensitivity and speed of the sensor, the resolution desired, and the capabilities of the recording device. The preferred embodiment employs rotating fisheye lenses for a substantially full-sphere field of view. Water polymer integument and method for preparing integument controlled-release fertilizer thereof

The invention discloses a water-based polymer coated film and a preparation method of a film-coated controlled release fertilizer thereof, which belongs to the agricultural controlled release fertilizer preparation technical field and relates to using a novel water-emulsion type polymer. The polymer film-coated controlled release fertilizer is coating a layer of novel degradable latex polymer film layer on the surface of granular fertilizer. The granular fertilizer with the diameter of 2 to 5mm is packed inside a film coating device of a rotating drum or a fluidized bed, and the granular fertilizer flows inside the film coating device to be heated to 80 DEG C to 100 DEG C. Organic matter is sprayed on the surface of the granular fertilizer, then complex polymer latex is sprayed on the facial surface of the organic matter film layer of the granular fertilizer to be dried continuously, the water of the film layer is removed by complete drying, and the polymer latex film-coated controlled release fertilizer is obtained. The invention conquers the problem that organic solvent leaks to cause the environmental pollution during the process of the production and avoids the problems of solvent recycling; the manufacturing process is easy for realizing the large scale chemical industry production; the investment cost is low; the production cost is reduced greatly.
