Abstract

The invention relates to a method and a device for controlling a fan. The method comprises the steps that the distance between the fan and a user is detected; when the distance is a first preset distance threshold value, appearance characteristic information of the user is obtained; when the user is judged to be a child according to the appearance characteristic information of the user, the fan is controlled to lower rotating speed; when the distance is a second preset distance threshold value and the second preset distance threshold value is smaller than the first preset distance threshold value, the fan is controlled to stop or powered off. Therefore, by means of the method, the child can be identified out of users by the fan, corresponding measures for controlling the fan are adopted, threat of the fan conducting on the safety of the child is lowered to the lowest degree, according to the measures for controlling the fan, firstly the rotating speed is lowered, then stopping or being powered off is conducted, the method for controlling the fan is more suitable for requirements of the user, and the user experience is improved.
