Problems solved by technology

Such increased time may cause a delayed response of the system
For example, a delay can occur between the time the system is activated and the piston being driven forward toward the work tool, resulting in reduced efficiency

Embodiment Construction

[0014] figure 1 An exemplary disclosure of machine 10 with hammer 20 is shown. Machine 10 may be configured to perform work associated with a particular industry (eg, mining or construction industries, etc.). For example, machine 10 may be a backhoe loader ( figure 1 shown in ), excavators, skid steer loaders, or any other machine. Hammer 20 is pivotally connected to machine 10 via boom 12 and stick 16 . It is contemplated that another linkage could alternatively be used if desired.

[0015] In the disclosed embodiment, one or more hydraulic cylinders 15 may raise, lower and / or swing boom 12 and stick 16 to correspondingly raise, lower and / or swing hammer 20 . Hydraulic cylinder 15 may be connected to a hydraulic supply system (not shown) within machine 10 . Specifically, machine 10 may include a pump (not shown) connected to hydraulic cylinder 15 and hammer 20 by one or more hydraulic supply lines (not shown). A hydraulic supply system may introduce pressurized fluid (e...

Abstract

A hydraulic hammer is disclosed having a piston and an accumulator membrane disposed external and co-axial to the piston. Additionally, a sleeve is disposed between the piston and accumulator membrane, wherein the sleeve has a plurality of radial passages formed therein that fluidly connect the accumulator membrane with the piston.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a hydraulic hammer, and more particularly to a hydraulic hammer having a coaxial accumulator and piston. Background technique [0002] Hydraulic hammers can be attached to various machines such as excavators, backhoes, tool holders, or other similar machines used for milling stone, concrete, and other construction materials. The hydraulic hammer is mounted on the boom of the machine and connected to the hydraulic system. High pressure fluid is then supplied to the hydraulic hammer to drive the reciprocating piston and the work tool in contact with the piston. [0003] The piston is usually contained within the percussion system, which is surrounded and protected by an outer casing. A valve controls fluid flow into and out of the piston, and an accumulator provides a fluid reservoir at the valve. One or more passages connect the valve to the accumulator. [0004] An exemplary hydraulic hammer is disclosed in US Paten...
