Benefits of technology

This patented technology improves on existing methods for creating multiple gateways within an area called MultiWireless Network (MWN). It allows each node connected through different paths from one another while still being able to communicate properly with other devices outside it's own network. Additionally, this new solution simplifies the process of modifying or combining certain features like Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) signals into more efficient ways than traditional wired connections. Overall, these technical improvements make up what we call a better way to connect things together wirelessly at once.

Problems solved by technology

The technical problem addressed by this patented technology relates to improving wireless mesh networks' efficiency when handling varying amounts of data transmission over long distances without wasting valuable bandwidth or requiring excessive processing power at certain points along its route. This issue arises because it requires nodes with many connections that may also connect wirelessly into other areas outside their own area called “hop” zones where they cannot communicate properly.

Embodiment approach

[0040] Based on the IEEE802.11s protocol and solving the problem of STP blocking ports and broadcast storms after breaking STP, it has been realized figure 1 The multi-gateway wireless mesh network shown. For improving the performance of whole network, gateway load balancing is key, and the implementation scheme of balancing gateway load under the premise of guaranteeing QoS is as follows among the present invention:

[0041] The IEEE802.11s default routing protocol HWMP uses the space-time metric as a variable to reflect the status of the link. ALM (AirtimeLinkMetric) can reflect the delay of the network. Therefore, you can first select the ALM threshold suitable for various services. If the threshold is met, the load between the gateways will be balanced. Otherwise, the gateway will be selected according to the ALM. The gateway selection process is as follows Figure 5 Shown: When an ordinary node sends data to a node in the wired network, it first finds all the routing ta...

Abstract

The invention discloses an IEEE802.11s-based multi-gateway wireless Mesh network realization method. A multi-gateway wireless Mesh network is realized based on IEEE802.11s. A method for selectively discarding BPDU frames and tagging and filtering broadcast frames is designed, and problems about interconnection with a distributed system caused by introduction of multiple gateways, such as spanning tree port congestion and broadcast storm, are solved. When a terminal sends data to an external network, a gateway with the smallest load is selected on the premise of meeting the QoS requirement of the service, so as to achieve the purpose of gateway load balancing. The load index is the number of bytes which are sent by a wired network card of a gateway node to the external network during the time interval between two times of gateway announcement sending, and the load index is added to an RANN frame and broadcasted. A multi-gateway wireless Mesh network and gateway load balancing are realized. A gateway with smaller load can be selected when a network node and the external network exchange data, thereby improving the performance of the entire network.
