Abstract

Enhanced antenna management is described for nodes in which transmit antennas assigned to at least one first carrier are designated for use by a second carrier (e.g., when the first carrier is turned off and its corresponding antenna is idle or not. event). The node uses the set of antenna ports on the second carrier to transmit various signals (e.g., control channels, PDCCHs) based on the combined physical antennas associated with the first (inactive) carrier and physical antennas associated with the second carrier , data channel, PDSCH) and reference signals (eg, CSI-RS) to increase the transmission efficiency on the second carrier.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 61 / 812,644, filed April 16, 2013, entitled "ENHANCED ANTENNAMANAGEMENT BY A BASE STATION," which is expressly incorporated by reference in its entirety This article. technical field [0003] In general, aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communication systems, and more specifically, to enhanced antenna management by a base station. Background technique [0004] Wireless communication networks are widely deployed to provide various communication services such as voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, and so on. These wireless networks may be multiple-access networks capable of supporting multiple users by sharing available system resources. Such networks, typically multiple-access networks, support communications for multiple users by sharing available network resources. One example of such a network is the Univ...
