Abstract

The invention discloses a monitoring method and system. The monitoring method comprises the following steps: partitioning a system to be monitored into at least one endpoint among which a dependence relationship exists according to service data flow features of the system to be monitored, and generating a configuration file according to the at least one endpoint and the dependence relationship; acquiring monitoring index data of each of the endpoints, and deploying a monitoring agent for each of the endpoints; converting a format of the monitoring index data to obtain monitoring index data of a first format; and filling page data according to the monitoring index data of the first format and the configuration file, and displaying endpoint information of each of the endpoints on a display interface according to the first format, wherein the endpoint information includes endpoint states, the dependence relationship among the endpoints and the monitoring index data of the endpoints. The system to be monitored is abstracted into a group of endpoints connected according to the dependence relationship, and the monitoring index data of each of the endpoints is acquired, so that a series of endpoints of a fault and the dependence relationship among the endpoints can be presented when the fault occurs; the fault locating difficulty is lowered; and trouble-shooting efficiency is increased.
