Abstract

A vehicle cooling system includes an internal combustion engine, a transmission with a cooler, a coolant pump, a first coolant cycle, a second coolant cycle, and a flow regulator. A first coolant circuit fluidly connects the coolant pump to the engine and back to the coolant pump. A second coolant circuit fluidly connects the coolant pump to the transmission cooler bypassing the engine and back to the coolant pump. The flow regulator is configured to selectively restrict coolant flow through the second coolant cycle.
