Embodiment Construction

[0059] figure 1 An embodiment of the device 1 for determining the vital signs of a subject 100 is shown. The device 1 is applied to an appropriate position on the body of the subject 100 to measure physiological signals. Appropriate locations include but are not limited to figure 1 The chest and thoracic area depicted. However, it is possible to envisage any part of the subject 100 that is affected by the physiological phenomenon, especially the upper torso.

[0060] The device 1 for determining the vital signs of a subject 100 according to an aspect of the present invention enables non-intrusive measurement of movement signals, for example describing respiratory movements and / or movements due to heart beats. The signal forms the basis for determining the subject's breathing rate and heart rate (beat rate). As able from figure 1 As seen in, the device 1 can be implemented as a small device that can be simply applied to the body of the subject 100.

Abstract

A processing apparatus for processing a physiological signal is presented. The processing apparatus is configured to perform the steps of: obtaining the physiological signal (6) containing at least two wave cycles originating from a physiological process (6b), obtaining a feature signal (12) descriptive of occurrences of a feature (P) in the physiological signal (6), determining an average waveform of the physiological signal (6) around said occurrences of the feature (P) in the physiological signal (6), and determining a model signal (18) comprising amplitude-scaled instances of the average waveform of the physiological signal (6) placed at the occurrences of the feature (P) in the physiological signal (6). Furthermore, a corresponding processing method, a system (1) for determining a vital sign of a subject comprising said processing apparatus and a computer program are presented.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of determining the vital signs of a subject, in particular to a processing device, processing method and system for processing physiological signals. Background technique [0002] The vital signs of the subject are a powerful indicator to determine the medical condition and health status of the subject. Vital signs include but are not limited to respiratory rate (RR) and heart rate (HR) or beat rate. Vital signs describe basic physiological processes such as heartbeat or respiratory movements. Ability to measure and evaluate physiological signals that describe basic physiological processes. [0003] For example, respiratory monitoring can be based on different principles: the measurement of respiratory effort, such as chest impedance plethysmography, respiratory induction plethysmography, often referred to as breathing band (respirationbandorrespiband), photoplethysmography; or measurement of respiratory effects, s...
