Abstract

The invention provides a detection method and apparatus. A server single board is provided with an expandable host controller interface XHCI controller. The method comprises the steps of performing first testing on a USB interface through a USB device accessing the USB interface of the server single board; after the first testing is finished, uninstalling a bus driver of the XHCI controller, wherein the USB interface is mounted on the XHCI controller; modifying a register corresponding to the USB interface, so that the USB interface is switched to a second mode; reloading the bus driver of the XHCI controller; and performing second testing on the USB interface through the USB device. According to the detection method and apparatus, when the USB interface is tested, only one USB device needs to access the USB interface and the USB interface is controlled to be automatically switched to different modes, so that the test cost is reduced while the automated test is realized.
