Disclosed aspects include systems and methods for context-based charging of batteries. In one aspect, contextual information about usage patterns of the electronic device is used to customize charging of the rechargeable battery. In one aspect, the pre-side engine accesses contextual information and generates a predicted charging duration. The charging application customizes the charging parameters in the battery charger based on the predicted charging duration.
