Computer-assisted and/or enabled systems, methods, techniques, services and user interfaces for conducting motor vehicle and other inspections

A computer-assisted inspection system including an integrated software suite provides vehicle inspection services for various clients. The system provides customized workflow based on different inspection clients, different types of inspections and other factors. Different clients may have different inspection needs. Some clients may not care about certain defects that other clients want to know about. The system can provide, on the inspection appliance, different rules that can be activated in response to which client the inspection is being provided for and/or other factors for inspection criteria, valuation/pricing, rule-based validation and automatic grading. The resulting rule-driven user interface is thus customized—allowing the inspector to be more efficient in gathering the precise data desired at the time of data collection. Features include flat car part picking, highly client-customizability, easy to use, ability to run in an environment where the inspector has no constant connectivity to the network (no guaranteed access to the internet, full data replication, intermittent connectivity, synch back up), inspectors can be geographically separated (e.g., all over the country), system is installable over the internet to provide efficient installation to far-flung install sites.

Fieldbus upgradable apparatus and method

A method and apparatus to modify control devices residing on a Fieldbus communications network, without interrupting the operation of the control devices. The control device updating may further be controlled and monitored by a remotely located host that also communicates on the Fieldbus network. The control device may comprise at least two distinct memory areas, wherein at least one memory area must be active, and at least one memory area must be inactive. Active memory areas provide the control device microprocessor operating system with executable instructions or data. The host downloads new executable instructions or data to inactive memory areas, with associated data entry points, during unscheduled communications periods wherein data input / output is not being performed between the control device and the host or another control device. Upon a full data transfer and proper verification of the new data, the host may issue an activation command that causes a selector device to activate the previously inactive memory area by directing the microprocessor to the entry points of the newly downloaded executable instructions or data. The memory activation must occur while the microprocessor is not performing application execution, application input / output, or application communications. By timing the memory activation in this manner, the microprocessor may be redirected to the newly downloaded executable instructions or data without microprocessor interruption.

Network side device and AM (amplitude modulation) service data buffer method of network side device

The invention discloses a network side device and an AM (amplitude modulation) service data buffer method of the network side device. The method comprises the following steps that when a PDCP (packet data convergence protocol) layer receives AM service data packets, and the current buffer queue does not reach the full data memory, the data packets are buffered to the vacant position of the buffer queue, and otherwise, the data packets are buffered to the position of the stored data packets in the buffer queue according to the preset mechanism, wherein the PDCP layer regularly regulates the buffer queue length according to the UE (user equipment) signal channel quality, the position information and the AM down service flow; the PDCP layer releases the data packets successfully sent to UE in the buffer queue according to the notification of a RLC (radio link control) layer; and the PDCP layer releases the overtime data packets according to the buffer duration in the data packets. The device and the method disclosed by the invention have the advantages that on the premise of not influencing the system performance, the unmeaning memory is avoided as much as possible, and the memory utilization rate and the system efficiency are improved.
