Abstract

The invention relates to a method for determining a reference position of a transmission actuator, preferably for a motor vehicle transmission, in which said transmission actuator comprises an electric motor and engages, by means of a shift finger, with one of a plurality of shift gates of a shift rail, said electric motor carrying out a shift gate selection procedure in a first rotational direction, and implementing the shift procedure in said selected shift gate in a second rotational direction. In a method which allows a reference position of the transmission actuator to be ascertained reliably, said reference position is determined by a referencing procedure in which said reference position corresponds to a defined shift gate with which the shift finger engages by means of a mechanical reference aid of the shift rail.
