Abstract

The invention provides a link health detection method and a link health detection apparatus. The method is applied to a session management server, and comprises the following steps: receiving a detection message which is sent by a network device and carries a detection target and an exit interface; determining a proportion of abnormal state sessions through a session log corresponding to the detection target and the exit interface; according to the proportion, judging whether accessing the detection target through the exit interface is healthy; and if not, sending information about that accessing the detection target through the exit interface is not healthy to the network device, thereby enabling the network device to adjust the exit interface for accessing the detection target. By application of the embodiment of the invention, the session management server performs statistics on the proportion of abnormal state sessions in the session log corresponding to the detection target and the exit interface, thus, whether accessing to the detection target through the exit interface is healthy can be judged, memory usage of the network device can be reduced, forwarding performance of the network device is improved, and the obtained judgment result is more accurate.
