Abstract

The invention provides a method and a device for upgrading a BootLoader program. The method comprises the steps of when detecting an upgrade trigger operation for a current BootLoader program in an embedded device, acquiring an upgrade file which contains a BootLoader program of the latest version; determining whether the BootLoader program of the latest version fits the embedded device; if the BootLoader program of the latest version fits the embedded device, updating the current BootLoader program in the embedded device via the BootLoader program of the latest version, and if the BootLoader program of the latest version does not fit the embedded device, abandoning the operation of updating the current BootLoader program in the embedded device via the BootLoader program of the latest version. For upgrading a BootLoader program in an embedded device, whether a BootLoader program of the latest version fits the embedded device is judged, so that crash of the embedded device caused by the upgrade of a wrong BootLoader program can be prevented.
