Abstract

The invention provides a real-time data distribution system and method based on an Openflow protocol. A communication framework proposed by the invention combines a DDS and an SDN to support efficient dynamic distributed application. The system mainly includes an underlying network device, a DDS interface API, a controller, a DDS agent, a northbound interface and an application service. The DDS agent, the DDS interface API, and a routing agent in the underlying network device are components of the DDS system. The northbound interface, the controller, a southbound interface, an OF switch, and the Openflow protocol are components of the software defined network. The SDN brings flexibility to the network and provides the set of on-demand dynamic communication network service quality. The invention distributes a corresponding flow table for a device in a data forwarding plane by using a Meter table mechanism achieving a QoS function in the Openflow protocol, allocates the network resources collectively and improves the utilization rate of the whole network.
