Abstract

The invention discloses a Hash algorithm based on a CMOS image sensor PUF and an authentication method thereof. The Hash algorithm is characterized by using a pretreatment mode to increase robustness of an image; then extracting a main characteristic of the image in a two-dimensional DCT domain so as to generate a characteristic vector F; and then using an inherent physical unclonable function PUF of a CMOS image sensor to establish excitation response mapping and encrypt a generated response which is a Hash value. The authentication method is characterized by distinguishing a tampered image and a similar image through calculating and comparing Hash vectors corresponding to an image to be detected and an original image respectively. In the invention, the Hash algorithm based on the CMOS image sensor PUF of a root of trust (RoT) service and the authentication method are provided for image content authentication; authentication safety can be guaranteed fundamentally without using a symmetric key; and the algorithm and the method are especially suitable for image content authentication of low level hardware.
