Abstract

The present invention relates to a container for an aerosol generating substrate having a piercing region for use in an electrically heated aerosol generating device having a piercing member piercing the piercing region. The container includes: a housing; and a cap including the piercing region and a heater defining a boundary of the piercing region. The invention also relates to an electrically heated aerosol-generating device comprising: a power source; a cavity for receiving a container containing an aerosol-forming substrate according to any one of the preceding claims; electrical contacts connected to the said power source and configured to couple said power source to said heater of a container through said electrical contacts of said container; and said piercing means for piercing a container when said container is received in said chamber area equipment. A method of making a container including an aerosol-generating substrate is also disclosed.
