The method comprises following steps: a CDP server-side makes a virtual block device through drive of a block device; the virtual block device is provided to the CDP server-side as a mirror disk through an ISCSI protocol; the CDP server-side distributes write operation of source volumes through a volume filter driver to the mirror disk synchronously or asynchronously; and the CDP server-side process and records IOs so that a backup function of CDP is fulfilled. During restoration, data at any time point can be rapidly created. The FC protocol or the ISCSI protocol is utilized so that data at any time point can be immediately checked and used in a mounting mode without restoration operation. The CDP backup method based on volumes has following beneficial effects: without affecting usage and performance of an original system, data states at any time point can be rapidly created; and there is no need for restoration, data can be checked.
