Embodiment
[0030]
[0031] In this particular embodiment, the first and second layers are laid on top of each other, and the pattern is then created by weaving some parts of the layers together and leaving other areas unfixed, but subsequent heat treatment of the fabric leaves the non-woven areas The "loose" or rises on the surface of the fabric to create tactile areas that represent specific patterns. It should be understood that any type of pattern may be generated, such as letters, numbers, geometric shapes, logos, brands, etc.

Three-dimensional woven fabric materials for producing apparel and other items are disclosed. The three-dimensional woven fabric material consists of two layers of material - a top layer and a back layer. The front and back layers are then woven together via float threads to form predetermined patterns or areas where the two layers are not woven together. These regions that are not woven together form a tube. Specifically, the weaving is controlled by a computer program, which weaves or does not weave the two layers together. Once woven, the three-dimensional woven fabric material is heat treated. This heat treatment process shrinks the float, causing manipulation of the tube. Specifically, the tube is looser or stiffer than if it were not heat treated. Additionally, the tube may be filled with fiber or other suitable material to make loose areas stronger.
Description
[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority to US Provisional Application No. 62 / 021,822, filed July 8, 2014, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. Background technique [0003] The present invention generally relates to woven tubular fabrics produced by novel weaving techniques. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to three-dimensional woven tubular fabrics that provide performance-enhanced stretch functionality for apparel and other items. [0004] Fabrics are generally produced from corresponding raw materials and constructed by weaving, knitting, plaiting or braiding. For example, felted fabrics are produced by fiber entanglement. By their standard production methods, fabrics are mainly classified into woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, felted fabrics, lace fabrics, non-woven fabrics, laminated fabrics, and molded fabrics. [0005] In a narrow sense, a woven fabric refers to a fabric constructe...
