[0022] At a high level, the present disclosure is directed to computer aided engineering programs and systems for evaluating the structural performance of refrigerant lines of A / C systems. The system simulates the forces exerted on components of the A / C system by refrigerant charging equipment typically used during vehicle assembly. The systems and procedures take this force into account, along with A / C line geometry and material properties, and determine the maximum deflection and maximum stress exerted on the components of the A / C system by the refrigerant charging device. With the procedures and systems described, A / C piping geometries and materials can be selected, tested and optimized prior to prototype fabrication and physical testing.
