The present invention provides a distributed caching system and a management method of caching clusters. The system includes a plurality of servers and a caching web manager; the caching web manager is used for allocating caching clusters, assigning identifiers to caching nodes in the caching clusters, storing the identifiers and sending startup commands to the servers when the allocating the caching clusters; and the server is used for receiving the startup command sent by the caching web manager, starting a caching process on the server according to the startup command, obtaining the identifiers of all the caching nodes on the server from the caching web manager, detecting the survival statuses of all the caching nodes and immediately restarting the cache processing on the server when detecting that one caching node does not survive. With the distributed caching system and the management method of the caching clusters provided by the invention adopted, more convenient allocation of the caching clusters can be realized; the startup of the caching processes does not need to be manually operated; and when a certain caching process fails, the caching process can be resumed without manual operation required, and therefore, greater convenience can be brought about.
