Problems solved by technology

Because at higher drive speeds the ultrasonic motor can still be adjusted relatively simply by varying the amplitude of the control voltage despite the otherwise existing non-linearity or hysteresis of the transfer characteristic, whereas at low drive speeds, that is to say , less than 1mm / sec, hardly prevents the motor from entering the mode of starting torque or starting voltage, which may eventually lead to vibration and positioning errors

Embodiment Construction

[0044] The invention relates to a method and a device for controlling a piezoelectric motor 1 with two control electrodes 11 , 12 by applying a periodic control voltage to the control electrodes 11 , 12 . In particular, it is a piezoelectric ultrasonic motor with a piezoelectric ultrasonic actuator which operates at a frequency of, for example, 156 kHz.

[0045] Refer below figure 1 and 2 A piezoelectric ultrasonic motor 1 to which the method according to the invention is applied will be described.

[0046] The piezoelectric ultrasonic motor 1 includes a total of three electrodes 11 , 12 , 13 . Two of these electrodes 11, 12 are located on one of the two planar faces of an approximately square piezoceramic element 10 (dimensions such as 25 mm x 11 mm x 4 mm) and have the same size (eg 10 mm x 10 mm) and size ( eg 100mm 2 ) of substantially square faces. The electrodes 11 , 12 mounted on a flat surface are connected via a controller (not shown) to a power source for genera...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method and to a device for actuating a piezoelectric motor by means of two driving electrodes by applying periodic control voltages (U11, U12) to the driving electrodes. The problem addressed by the invention is that of realizing a simplified closed-loop control of the piezoelectric motor by reducing the static friction of a friction contact between a friction element of the piezo-electric motor and an output element to be driven by the friction element without a propulsion of the output element at the same time. This problem is solved in that the periodic control voltages (U11, U12) are applied with a phase shift to the driving electrodes in a first step of the method, and in a second step of the method, the amplitude ratio of the periodic control voltages (U11, U12) is changed with respect to the first step. The invention further relates to a corresponding device configured to automatically carry out the method according to the invention.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method and a device for controlling a piezoelectric motor with two control electrodes by applying a periodic control voltage to the control electrodes. The invention relates in particular to the field of piezoelectric ultrasonic motors which operate preferably in the frequency range above 20 kHz. Background technique [0002] For example by ( figure 1 ) US 6,747,391 B1 known a piezoelectric motor with two control electrodes powered by a periodic control voltage from two separate power supplies. [0003] Piezoelectric motors generally operate according to the principle that a targeted periodic deformation of the piezoceramic element (actuator) is produced by applying a periodic control voltage to its control electrodes. This deformation is transmitted via a so-called friction element (friction lobes) to the output element in frictional contact with it, in order to produce a displacement of this output element. In this case,...
