Abstract

The invention relates to a method for measuring the surface height of a grass layer in a natural grassland. The method includes the steps of 1) randomly setting 5 to 9 quadrats in a sample plot to be measured; 2) uniformly arranging a plurality of sampling points equally spaced in each quadrat; 3) obtaining the plant height at each sampling point by using a measuring device; 4) fitting a height observation value of a grass layer at each sampling point by a formula to obtain a continuous curve of the surface height of the grass layer; and 5) taking the continuous curve of the height of the grass layer as a quadrat grass layer surface height model to reflect the condition of the plant height in the quadrats. The method has a higher measuring precision and can fully reflect the change in the height of the grass layer in the quadrats. Defects of manual point selection and large measuring error are avoided.
