According to the method, relationships between coding units and prediction units in the high-bit-rate original video streams of a decoding end and the low-bit-rate output video streams of a plurality of coding ends are analyzed; the relationships between the coding units and prediction units in the plurality of coding ends are considered; and therefore, the depth selection and mode selection of the coding units in a transcoding process are rapidly predicted by means of the discovered relationships, and therefore, coding speed can be increased.
