[0001] Cross-references to related applications [0002] This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application 62 / 127,153, filed March 2, 2015, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety for all purposes Background technique [0003] Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) is a polypeptide-based hormone that is normally produced and secreted by the anterior pituitary gland. ACTH stimulates the secretion of Cortisol and other glucocorticoids from specialized cells of the adrenal cortex. In healthy mammals, ACTH secretion is tightly regulated. ACTH secretion is positively regulated by corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH) released from the hypothalamus. ACTH secretion is also negatively regulated by Cortisol and other glucocorticoids. [0004] Abnormal ACTH levels can lead to a variety of adverse physiological states. For example, excessive ACTH levels can cause excessive secretion of cortisol, resulting in hypercorticemia or Cushing's syndrome. ...
