An apparatus for preprocessing an input signal and a method for data transmission. In this device, a first digital predistortion module (110) and a second digital predistortion module (120) are used to receive an input signal (101) to provide a first predistortion signal (111) and a second predistortion signal respectively signal (121). A combiner (130) for combining the first predistortion signal (111) and the second predistortion signal (121) to provide an output signal (102). The first digital predistortion module (110) includes a moving average block (112) for receiving an input signal (101) to provide a moving average signal (114). The first digital predistortion module (110) also includes a digital predistorter (113) for receiving an input signal (101) and a moving average signal (114) to provide a first predistortion signal (111).
