Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method for hybrid precoding and a communication device. For example, at a communication device in a wireless communication system, a plurality of signals associated with a pilot is received over a wireless channel from a plurality of antennas of another communication device. Then, an angle-domain characteristic of the wireless channel is determined based on the plurality of signals, and a spatial correlation characteristic of the wireless channel is determined based on the determined angle-domain characteristic. Furthermore, since complete channel state information is no longer required when determining the spatial correlation characteristics of the wireless channel, time-reduced pilot correlation signals are transmitted from the transmitting end to the receiving end. A communication device capable of implementing the above method is also disclosed.
